Okay basically I had a HUGE oil pressure problem and I was running 85+ PSI I thought it was because I shimmed the oil pump 8 mm but now I think thats not what the problem was, I think I just found it. I am doing a NA-T in a turbo car so I have a NA block and I was using the turbo oil pump/attachments and I just realized in the turbo setup they have 2 lines connected, the pickup and another line out but on the NA it is blocked off and not used on the side so I think the pump was sending pressure thru the tube out to the block where it was blocked off, I think maybe in the NA your not suppose to connect that line since its blocked off its suppose to be open so it can just dump into the pan because in the turbo you use that line. Is this correct, was this the oil pressure problem? I think maybe im not suppose to use that line at all when using the pump in a NA you leave the thread open? Also can somone set the record stright with the correct oil pump shim in mm because I have herd so many different things I dont know what to go with, does everyone agree with 5mm?
Attached are the pics, let me know if im right!!

You really don't have a clue do you?
All 7M's have the hardlines you describe.
The external port you're pointing at is the NA Hot Climate Oil Cooler Port.
None of this has anything to do with your over pressure problem that is all down to your Gump Shim......
4.8mm of shim is plenty due to the springs short length any more and you run the risk of coil bind and the relief not relieving and blowing the O-Ring out of the Oil Filter.
Didn't you trust me the last time I posted this or that I PM'd Shaeff and he added the info in bold in his sticky?

ok... i'll do something worthwile...
You didn't listen when we said not to use a cork oil pan gasket.
You didn't listen when we said not to shim the pump out till the spring binds.
You didn't listen when we told you how to route the oil lines.
What makes you think you're gonna listen now?
Nice Fram oil filter btw.

You're crazy man...
Who said anything about driving the Supra? Simply owning one must be much easier.

ummm that line is not used, therefore it does not need to be connected, its just blocked off. Why would a line need to be connected when it does not do anything, if that wasent the problem what was, because ppl on here say they have run 7mm shim without a problem I ran 8 and had huge problems.... wtf is going on then im gonna take the line off anyway because im not using it.

Its has been stated here before. All supras are different, Put some faith in Ian as he is not trying to mislead you, he is trying to help you. 4.8mm OR LESS!!! Why, cuz he is a fart smucker...;)
I agree the other thread was tad misleading. But the point of it was to explain that there was some bad information out there and that coil bind was a bad thing.
Edited: due to the sarcasim thats coming, Do not bybass the hard line...

So let me get this straight, you are going to run the oil pump by letting the hard line just dump back into the pan.........so all you will end up doing is pumping oil back into the pan, and no oil going into the motor..........I say go for it, what the heck, you've done such ground breaking things so for, why stop now! Supras don't need oil anyway, it's just added weight.

Based on the picture and looking at it in person the second line looks like it just goes to the side port thats blocked off...

Keep looking.. It's called an outlet pipe for a reason...There is only one outlet on the oil pump that supplies oil to the block. That is it...

Go ahead and take it off, if only just so that you can see it goes way more places than just that blocked off port.
Please put it back on again afterwards, though.

ahhhh... point taken. im gonna shim 4 mm try again with a new pump, hopefully this time I wont blow out my turbo seals and run 85+ PSI
was probably more like 185 psi.......
I run 90 at high rpm.

"After" another motor?
LOL! No, I actually was encouraging him to take it apart and see where the oil goes from there. :D
Your method would work just as well, I guess, but it would cost a bit more coin!!!
LMAO Grim!
I bet Porter Gump will do it his way no matter what's written!
I think he thinks I'm telling him bullshit for some bizarre reason!
If nothing else it's entertaining reading his "insights" into the inner workings of the 7M! ;)
