oh. and before anyone asks questions what happened to the first one. it suffered too much detonation because of a pretty bad boost spike that i had trouble tuning out of the boost controller. that combined with the ecu that did not have any limiters on it was a recipe for disaster...

If I wasn't being careless about it, i could have saved the motor. but shit happens. its ok. i dont mind paying for another one :]

just pull one, put the other in.

we have to change a few things since the new motor is out of a JZX81. but its not anything i dont have already.

so i have 2 complete motors and we'll be picking and choosing the best condition parts from both. then ill sell or keep whats left.

oh yeah. i love the turn signal covers. they smoothe out the front end and give it an updated look i think. looks more modern. and the lip will be a great accent. im doing it in black. maybe the side mouldings too. im not sure yet. ill have to look at a photoshop to see if ill like it

the old motor is only a block, head and the accesory pulleys right now, so you would be able to tell:)

things left to do. put supra brackets on motor, finish replacing gaskets/seals, start putting stuff back together... put it back in the car, hook everything back up, fluids. then crank the bitch up and go beat the shit of it...

i havent driven mine in just about a month... not fun. before that i drive it basically everyday. during the week 60+ miles to work and school. weekends probably about 60 or so combined...

driving my moms expedition while the supra is not running is not cool at all... not to mention im having to foot the bill on it too. i put about 100 bucks in gas into the fucking thing over about 4 days. its pretty lame.

i dont even remember what the car sounds like or feels like when driving. guess we'll found out again tomorrow.

at the moment, nothing special. ive got a few things that i didnt have before. nothing super special though... just an aftermarket BOV and a new exhaust.

I don't need much more right now. 1J with full exhaust and intake is extremely fun and satifying to drive. :) i doubt ill ever go with a turbo large enough to ruin the silky smoothe feel the stock twins have. or at least ill try to stay as close as possible to that.

in the future a small single or small twins good for 400-450hp will be enough for me... I think we, as a supra community, with all the cars (especially MKIVs) making huge numbers forget just how much 400hp really is... alot of people probably feel 'insecure' about their 'low' dyno numbers when in reality their cars would own 90% or more of anything theyll ever see on the street tooling around the city

Sorry I havent updated in a while.

Yes, the 2nd engine had poopoo turbos on it. I just got the turbos from my 1st motor put in and it's running pretty good now. Gas mileage is a little bad right now, but I did give it a good flogging last night, so maybe it will go up significantly after I calm down a bit...

I'll have new pics up soon. I haven't even had a chance to wash the damn thing yet. It's a tad dirty from sitting in the garage for about 6 weeks and having greasy hands working on it.


There's more planned for this car in the near future as well.
