If I get my stuff in shape by then, I'd come. Is it a 1/4 or 1/8 mile track?

If everyone promises not to laugh at my 1/8 mile times I'd love to go. One question though.......Where in the world is Holiday Raceway? I'm getting my wifes car out of the shop this week and we may bring both of them. We just put a new motor in hers. Mine is shutting off on me for some reason. It just goes dead when I stop at red lights. Cant figure it out.

If you know how to get onto I20/59, then you go to Exit 97. If you're coming from the direction of Birmingham then you'll turn left and go about 2 miles until you see the sign on your right. I haven't ran yet, but I plan on running at least once if my car feels up to it that day.

Whoooo! March 16th is a good ways off... Maybe my clutch will be good and ready by then.
I'm looking to hit 7's at holiday once I get my downpipe and front mount put in.
With stock downpipe and intake, (well, all stock except the turbo,) I ran 8.84. That was on 225 18" radials, 14psi. Now I can hit 18psi without fuel cut (1.23 bar/g).
Im excited about getting a clutch that'll hold. That 8.84 was just a test for the stock downpipe.
Okay, enough with that. Im up for a meet but I think it should be sooner, maybe at Steele. It's a 1/4 track north of birmingham. I've never been there and would really enjoy trying out a full 1/4, never have.

I'm still wanting to go to the meet. I still havent had everyone promise not to laugh at my track times though. Supra 60 is talking about putting down 7 second runs and my best time was a 9 flat. Thats when my car was running good. I'm having fuel cut problems bad. That is why I want to meet so I can get some help from you guys. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lol, hey man, my car is down for the count now. I had a shop install a faulty clutch on me and it took out my engine. I was sick and crazy the day I found out, I was so close to taking my car up a notch and this shit happens. Im gonna put this meet on my calendar anyways and might get some of my other car buddies to show up (non supra). I hope some of you guys can bust out at least a high 8 up there.

Just ordered my 255 fuel pump, I'm trying to order a lexus afm. Do I have to have the larger injectors? If so, the guy that built my turbo said he will sell me six of them for 100.00. I'm trying to get all of this done before March 16. I still have to take it and have it tuned.
Come on guys lets hear some enthusiasm about meeting some fellow supra owners. Hope everyone that is able will be there at the track MARCH 16. I know if the lord's willing and the creek dont rise, I'll be there. Me and my wife.

Of course I'm excited. I started the idea of the meet. :icon_bigg Suprahero, you shouldn't need much tuning with the lexus afm. You can think of it like a stock setup but a little beefier. I just got my stage 3 clutch installed yesturday and it's working great. I don't think I'm going to have time for anything else to be done to my car. Hope to have a good crowd if the weather isn't bad. I'll keep a watch on it.

I'm not getting it tuned just for that. I have my new turbo on and I want to see if I'm getting better than the 251 rwhp that I was getting with my stock ct26. I just hope that I can get my parts in and installed fast enough.

You don't really need bigger injectors with the lexus, just make sure you can flow more fuel. This can be accomplished with tuning as long as your stock injectors are up to the task.I'm sticking with my 440s but I also have a fuel pump, afpr and I'm going to get my SAFC tuned.
The only reason people say to get 550s is because it flows about 25% more fuel which matches the lexus' 25% more unmetered air. So you can run them untuned. Then again if the guy has a set for 100.00, thats a pretty good deal.
My car is running good just trying to get some odds and ends taken care of. Also getting registered and insured is harder then expected. It should be all good by the 16th. I'm probably going to head to Steele before that though.

Their isn't any hitch going to stop me from going. I may not run that well, but I will be there. I'll be the old 35 year old man in the blue metallic supra with the good looking wife.

03-14-2006, 05:23 PM
LOL. I don't see why you wouldn't run. You'd have one of the fastest cars there. Plenty of power to beat those Mustangs. I'm running "alright". Not the best. This recent heat has been killing my performance. I'm surprised at the difference. I'll be there right at 5 and try to get a practice run or two in before the crowd (if there is one) gets there. Can't wait.

There saying that it's 60% chance of rain. Hopefully they miss it like they usually do. Hope to see everyone there.

Well no one showed up but me and Casper. I was really wanting to see some supras represent, but apparently it wasn't that big a deal for them. Casper and I got on the track and represented. Neither one of us ran that good, but we did get out there. My first time was a 9.15, and then a 9.25, and then a 10.55...I was spinning a good bit, but it was the first time I had ever seen the track. I liked the place. It had a pretty good track. It was just a little slick, but I don't own any slicks. (yet)
Hopefully next time we can meet at Bama Dragway and a few more will show up. Casper has a sweet looking silver car. It ran pretty good. I think he was having problems off the line a little. It kind of bogged down on him a little. I had a few people admiring my car, I just wish it ran a little better. I want to go to a 1/4 mile track and see how I do there. It takes me a while to get spooled up, thererfore my 1/8 mile track times are slow.

I really wanted to go but my front main is leaking really bad. There's no way they would let me run, I'd be spilling all over the track. Also the car still aint registered/insured.

Here are my time sheets. Like suprahero said, I couldn't start for crap. The Mustang, I bogged down. The Nova, my shifter popped out of first. The RX-7, I had insane wheel hop which somehow caused the #6 plug wire to pop off the plug. It was fun anyways. I enjoyed representing the Supra name. Wished everybody could have been there.

I'll find my slips and post them later on. I've got to get ready for a golf tournament for the Cancer Society. My friends wife organizes the tournament and I play in it every year.
Hang in there Casper. After we run a few more times and get the hang of it we'll be posting like 7.20's...............................NOT! Surely, we'll get better though. See you around.
Staticpat, love the new pictures of your car on your avatar. Looking sweeeet.

hero, are you ever going to post those times. i know it took you 1/4 of the track to grip and another 1/4 to spool, but you still got some good times.

I cant make my scanner work right now. I went to bama saturday night 3-25-06 and ran some good times. My best was an 8.75. I smoked two gt's, one dodge hemi ram, one ss mantecarlo, and a truck that ran like a 12 second.
I then blew my head gasket, so I will be rebuilding her shortly. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I don't know where I can get the machining done on the block if I pull it. Do you know of someone locally that can and will do that?

TVR is going to be doing mine as soon as I'm prepared to do it. They're here in Tuscaloosa. If you need their number just let me know. They really know their stuff.

I'm working on an engine myself. I was planning on having PAECO do all my machine work but there milling machine (or whatever its called) is getting repaired and won't be back for a while. I need to get my crank reground and some work done to the block.

I just decided to replace the head gasket. My cylinder walls look brand new. They are freaking perfect. I've orderd arp studs, oem head gasket kit, divorced downpipe. I'm going to take my turbo and have it checked since it is off of the car. I have a little shaft play in it and it pisses me off, cause the thing is practically brand new. I did have a pretty big hole in my bottom i.c. pipe. I think the turbo was having to work too hard. The air was leaving it faster than it could spool it up. Hope to have mine running by next saturday. My head is suppose to be ready friday or monday. The other parts won't be here till middle or later of next week. Good luck with your rebuilds.........lol
