But, yeah. Pico Rivera is small. Whittier is to the right, Montebello is to the left, Downey is below, and El Monte is above.

Anybody know of a reputable mechanic in the SoCal (Los Angeles) area? I mean, there's shops around my city but they all look dirty and cheap and some previous mechanics seemed to find a billion things ($$$) wrong with my dad's trucks. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i've found that even reputable mechanics have a hard time working on Supras. I think that it's because they dont have much experience with them, and Supras seem to defy all of their traditional engine repair knowledge.... So it comes to this...when you have a Supra, and you want a repair done right...do it yourself.

If you're in Pico, I'd take my Supra to a place in City of Industry that does among other cars, Mk IVs. Its SP Engineering. This is a real serious shop into building serious cars. They're probably not cheap tho.

There's a place in Torrance, Toysport that does only Toyotas. I've had them do some work, their work is OK if you get one of the real mechanics to work on your car. They are not very expensive, but remember you get what you pay for. The times I was there, they were doing a lot of corollas.

The only place that I know that does 7MGTE is a place in Hollywood. Top End Performance. I've never seen the place. I've just read their website and I've talked to them on the phone.
I believe they do serious engine builds also.

I also guess it depends on what you want done......

Yeah, I'm not looking into investing a whole lot ($$$) into my car right now... just the simple stuff. I have little mechanical experience and have only been driving for about 3 years. But, hey, I'm up for the challenge and the experience of learning the inner workings of our cars. That's why I'm here!

I come from Cerritos. Kind of between Long Beach and Anaheim. My Supra doesn't run.. yet.. Sometimes I visit the SRT-4 meet around the towne center, but it's been awhile since that went on. The Scion "meet" and some Honda people usually meet around this area weekly, so I wouldn't suggest a Supra's meet unless it were kind of umm.. away from... rice....
