non turbo tach problems

just wondering i just helped my firend swap a 1j into his 91 non turbo supra the tachometer doesnt work i kno because the non turbo reads signal off of the distributor my other firend was tellin me instead of buy a turbo tach you can wire up the non turbo tach to work does anyone know how or have the thread to do this any help would be appreciated thanks

This could have easily been searched, likely how martin found it.
Try using it more often, most of the info especially on 1jz swaps, os out there.
