What kind of clicking should you here from the ISC after you shut the engine off? Is it very distinct, multiple clicks, or just one click? I am trying to diagnose an iratic high idle ( 1000-1200rpm) after the engine is warmed up. The TSRM says to check the ISC, I here no click whatsoever. I have removed it and tested o.k. for ohms resistance but I cant get it to do anything when I apply power to it directly from a battery per TSRM.

12000rpm? lol
Mine makes a very distinctive clicking noise. Its a deeper sound than retention of heat exchange on manifold covers after engine turn shut-off per say, mine clicks 3 times.
I can tomorrow sometime after work upload a sound clip of mine in action if you need mate?
Matt.

lol thanks for pointing out the typo. I would love to hear what I am supposed to be listening for, although if its that distinct I have the feeling mine is bad.

If it doesn't open and close when power is applied to it, it's almost certainly bad.
