seat belt

Hi guys, eny one got a mk3 blue drivers side seat belt. (right hand drive)
im in the middle of changing my interior from brown to blue
went to fit the drivers belt and it wont pull out.
it worked fine in my other car before i took it out

From what I've heard, you have to be careful not to let them coil up when you take them off the car or else they will lock up.
