Introducing the WOTcam - 1-button in-car video

We just became a Supramania vendor and I am really excited to get this out here.

Here is what the WOTcam does:
Its an all in one video recording system. (camera, recorder, microphone, etc all in one small device that mounts to your windshield, and soon your rollbar, helmet or fender too). That pretty much covers it. It also has a 3 MP still camera. No batteries to change, records up to 8 gb on micro SDHC cards and saves video diectly to AVI. oh, and it will record an unlimited unmber of clips.... up to 5 hours total!

Im hoping to get together with some of the local guys to get some video on some MKIII's (Boost Lee!!!! SuicideSuprA70!!! IM CALLING YOU OUT!) :)


The final version of the WOTcam will go on sale at the end of July, the videos below were taken with one of our prototype cameras.

Two things...
1. What's the price going to be?
2. What's the technical specs on the recordings - what framerate and resolution?

We haven't finalized the price yet, but we are looking at $249, and possibly an intro price that would be lower.
EDIT: PRICE WILL BE CONSIDERABLY LOWER THAN $249

recording specs:
30 frames per second.
its the equivalent o VGA resolution, I'll get you the exact number of pixels on Monday.

Camera will be priced at $159.00 when we get it offered for sale in the next few weeks.

hey interested in doing a partnership with a road race mk3. i race with nasa and locally at autocross. currently i use one go pro camera for the outside and another aiptek on the inside. im willing to show your product off at nasa events to other racers since thats your main audience. you can see some of my videos on youtube under the user name kbrew01. i can give you decal space as well if you want.

also form the videos it looks like you all need a less sensitive mic. the go pro has two settings a high sensitivity and a low sensitivity

We've gone through one more round of testing and we are extremely close to the final product. So we will be launching these for sale very soon.

Just got back home from a weekend racing with NASA. Used the WOT Camera wide angle for the hole weekend. boy was I impressed. The camera is tiny and ultra lightweight. It also is simple to use and can hold a huge 8 gig micro sd card. this allows you to film more than a hour of video on one card. I sent my videos to Armando and I am sure he will host them online after he cleans them up a bit. This camera is a real deal and once they release it if you do autocross, drift or track days you should really look into it. it puts a Go Pro to shame

Supraguru gets plenty of props from us. I got a DVD with about 5 hours of video on it from t he WOTcam. Try doing that with a GoPro without a dozen batteries and 5 memory cards! Anyways, this guy can drive, and I'm glad he's got one of the first prototypes to play with.

I need to edit the files down in size cause they are too big for youtube, but Ill have the videos hosted ASAP.

also, the price of the WOTcam has been adjusted down a bit. ;)

I am going to experiment with methods of filtering the mic over the next couple weeks. Its tough to get good audio inside a car that is going that fast with the windows down without a external moveable mic.
