Vacumn reduction?

I did search but didnt find much-

I am wanting to get rid of all the EGR and as much of the vacumn garbage on my 7mgte that I can. I know on the DSM's and the 3kgt/stealth platforms there are well-documented vacumn/EGR reductions but could not find a complete, clear method for accomplishing this on a 7M. If you have done this and have specific information, or you know of a good thread about it- I am very interested!

this gives the vacumn and EGR routing, but I am more interested in getting rid of it completely, or at least as completely as possible

Pretty much you can get rid of the charcoal canister. Route the line from the tank into the fender hole next to the turbo, remove the vac lines off the BSVS and cap the nipple on the intake mani. To fully remover the EGR system you will need to take the head off as the EGR cooler is right smack on the backside of the head. You will also need to buy some EGR block off plates for where the EGR valve hooks in.

Right. You just have to be patient and a little nimble. I've taken mine off and put it on with the head still on the block in the car. just start off with a cold motor, that thing gets hot.

you'd be better off plugging the line for the charcoal cannister and getting a vented gas cap, or drilling a small hole in yours...

putting that tube through the fender well will get you some nice gas smells when you turn on the heat/AC.

I just pulled the gasket.. It's worked great for me.
My supra has 5 vaccum lines when the motor is actually in it. 1 for FPR, one for BOV, one for EBC (I suppose that's two, turbo-ebc-wastegate) one for boost guage/boost referrence for EBC and one for heater valve. I removed PS, Cruise control, all emisions, and all VSVs. In summer, I remove the heater line, but make sure you run coolant through the heater core MOST of the time or it will rot.

Actually you dont have to drill a hole. On the inside of the cap, there is a black 1 way rubber plug right in the middle. Needle nose to pull it out and that's it...

Quick Q: Why do people remove the Charcoal Cannister? <stealth edit>

It's not a performance thing so is it just cosmetic?

If so have you considered using the little JDM plastic cannister and hiding it?

i hate cruise control. i enjoy having COMPLETE control over the vehicle at all times. i dont want it doing anything for me. :) besides, i dont take long enough trips for it to matter.

haha, thats fine. ya know, i never liked that BVSV on the thermostat housing, and the charcoal cannister was always ugly in my engine bay. thats why i removed it, (and the fact that with my JDM motor, there's no BVSV, and my old one was broken, so i just decided to get rid of it)

BUT if it had found out about the small plastic one that you could hide away, i'd have probably kept it. too late now!
