Anybody want to sell some stock 1J cams? I got a friend with a broken exhaust one. He doesn't like posting on SF/SM.

well update on the car. i sold it to a friend of mine and i have been working on it to get it back together. We had a few stumbles getting everything in the car and getting it running. One issue as Jeff stated was the exhaust cam being broken which was fixed earlier this week. Next was getting a oil feed which i got him to just order a sandwich plate and got that fixed really not that big. Then to me it didnt seem like much oil was going to the top of motor so we took the pan off and beat it out somemore ::eek:riginal owner hit a big dip and crushed it::. So last night we get the oil pan back on, put the sandwich plate in place and turn it over with no plugs etc to get some oil into the feed line and what not. Got that done and now came the big moment, will it start. Turn the pump and stuff on and after about 3 times of the motor turned over it started up and purred like a kitten. Glad its running now as i had a few skeptical people that didnt think me and my buddy could do it. Hopefully by sunday ill have the small vaccum leak found and the radiator and coolant lines all routed right and he is driving it.

Nice! Well I know where a supra is being parted out now here in north Alabama but I am not completely sure of the condition of the motor.

There was a point where I thought about that myself. The only problem that I have with it is the quality that the motor is in comes to question. I haven't heard of severe cases recently mostly just a sensor being broken every once in awhile. I dont think its a bad idea. Be sure to check if you can get the ecu with it though, from what I have read they US ecu was different from the jdm. Im not sure what kind of effect it would have if you didnt have it, but I would double check just in case.

It's recommended that if you get a JDM motor that you plan on at least putting a head gasket on it before installing it in the car. I have heard that if you want to run without an EGR, that you need to have the JDM ECU, so you shouldn't have a problem using the JDM one

I have heard the same thing. Do you know if the jdm 7m had any governors or limiters like the jdm 2j had?

I have a buddy of mine that lives about a mile from me. He has a off white 89-91 with a stock 1jz in it. It's always immaculate. His name is Dylan and he's a cool dude if you ever see him out and about.

That would be him. His wheels do look like ccw's, but they aren't. If you ever see him out and about, stop him and talk to him. He's a cool guy. He works at our Sumiton Sonic.

Well my supra is finally getting out of paint in about a week!! I will be sure to post of a thread of all the progress that has been made on it since I bought it. I was wondering though, would anyone from Bama be interested in a meet at some point? Let me know what you guys think.

I'd love to have a local meet. I'm sure I'll be in my sc300, but I'd still like to meet up. I plan on putting my supra's motor into this sc.

City you live in: Cullman
Hobbies: Cars, Gaming, Paintball, Computers...
Upgrades to your car: large FMIC, 3" IC piping, mandrel bent turbo elbow back exhaust, cat delete, tokico blues on eibach springs, nissan 17" wheels, sony radio, almost forgot 89+ tails, and a new antenna.

i want to upgrade the turbo, do the lexus/550 upgrade, better FPR, FFIM, put bigger and wider wheels on the car, stiffer anti sway bars (ST possibly), BBK (big break kit), MAYBE a short throw shifter idk though cause im pretty use to the stock now.

Very nice, I just got my car out of paint and my brother's just went in. So we'll be ready in the spring. We need to come up with ideas for where would be a good place to meet.

Can some of you guys start throwing out ideas for where you would like to have a meet. I think once we have the top three favorable locations we can put them up in a poll and let democracy ultimately decide a location. After we nail a location we can work on a time and a date. Alright boys I'm all ears!!
