So... where can I find the actual, CONFIRMED delegate counts at? My dad seems to be sure that Romney has the nomination locked in, but I still don't think enough of the delegate counts have been confirmed yet. Or does it matter at all until Tampa? Let me know if anyone knows for certain, I sure as hell won't be voting for Obama-lite, when the best reason to vote for him is "to get Obama out of the office". One other point suggested was that Romney has a balanced budget in his entire time in office. Do they think Paul wouldn't be able to do that?

Paul runs a surplus and returns money to the government every year.

Paul said everyone calls Santorum a conservative so maybe they will start to look at Paul?

Just a thought, I am not to sure nor am I posting this to be written in stone.

I think around june more accurate delegate counts will be anounced. It takes time to go through the county and state delegate process.
That's kinda what I was thinking, it wouldn't be until the approach of the national convention in August that we'd have confirmations.

Paul runs a surplus and returns money to the government every year.
Not to mooch off your work, but do you have a handy source on that? I'm going to the state convention this weekend, this could be good ammo...

The Republican Party is a bullshit show that is corrupt, vile and utterly non-representative. People who would willingly support this process aren't people who are going to D.C. to do anything but amass and maintain power. They could give a flying fuck what you want.

I suspect Obama will win reelection, because if this is how the opposition is running the show, the turnout is going to suck. People won't enthusiastically support someone who was foisted on them due to political machinations and fraud.

Goddamn infuriating. Your voice doesn't matter to the Republican Party. Just like most our government, it doesn't represent you unless you happen to agree with them. Don't agree? GTFO of the party.

So just great. Paul has support, [strike]North Dakota[/strike] The GOP rigs the votes.
Fixed that for ya... The GOP has become an oligarchy. The Democratic party is pretty much the same thing. At this point you're just selecting between which oligarch will rule over you. It's pretty pathetic that we've managed to destroy this system as quickly as we did. It's a damned shame. The second "Dark Age" that is coming is not going to be a pretty one...

Im not an american, but i sure like ron paul a lot. one of the things that i like about him is that he's trying to get america to take care of its business first, before running around to other countries and telling them what to do.
i sure hope he wins, but im certain that obama is going to get reelected.

I can't believe that this kind of common sense isn't demanded of those representing us...

Well, I'm mostly packed, going to see about getting out of work a bit early today so I can shower before I make the 4-5 hour drive across the state... supposed to be crappy weather later, let's hope it blows around my path.

Will report back the gist of the Wyoming state convention, as well as results for who got how many delegates for Tampa. Will be taking my camera as well as a pen and notepad. Could be interesting, and I'm still holding out hope that people wake up before voting...

Also:

I thought it was funny. :)

Heard this about Santorum:

"IMO Santorum should be forced to carry his candidacy to term."

The humor was lost on a lot of people

I had the chance to go see him speak at UCLA last week. It was awesome. There was a full stadium and many more people outside of the stadium chanting - you could hear them when things quieted down a bit. People were climbing the trees and fences so that they could see the speech.

Ron Paul's delegate count is much higher than the corporate media wants to talk about. The "news" reports that young people prefer Ron Paul because of reason X, Y or Z but the truth of the matter is that they use the internet more often and have access to the REAL STORY and not the MSM spin machine. Ill bet if you did a poll of internet savvy voters there would be a MUCH higher percentage of people that prefer Dr. Paul compared to a demographic comprised of Faux News heads.

PS we just took Colorado
I'm trying to figure out how many delegates he actually got. It says he got 13 of the first 18 but it doesn't mention if he picked up any others. There are 33 regular and 33 alternates. Totalling 66 possible delegates. All I can see in that article is that he picked up at least 13 out of the first 18.

http://dougwead.wordpress.com/ is the blog for his campaign adviser. He explains their delegate wins on this blog.

One thing to realize is that the pledged delegates for many of the candidates are actually loyal to Ron Paul and are only obligated to vote for the candidate they are pledged to on the first round. Some of the pledged delegates for the candidates will not show at the convention due to out of pocket expenses that they dont want to endure.

Almost all of the alternate delegates are Ron Paul supporters. As Santorum and Gingrich delegates drop out they will fill the void

Good to hear. Wyoming, it wasn't so... Romney got 14 delegates, Paul got 14 alternates. Some shady things happened, I'll explain later.

So, I said I would explain...

Wyoming had 425 delegates at the state convention this past Saturday. I would say we were 1/3 Paul supporters from what I could tell, the majority of the rest being Romney supporters. Well, three ballots were erroneously cast, on purpose. By the people in charge of the voting process. Two of the three were not even eligible to vote, and the third person cast TWO ballots. Reasoning?

-Wyoming has 14 delegates to send to Tampa, and 14 alternates.

-Ron Paul supporters ALL voted for the same 14 people to go. Hence, these people got a lot of votes.

-There were around 53-55 names on the list of delegates to go to Tampa, from the 24 counties in Wyoming.

-Romney campaign cast 3 additional ballots in order to skew the process. The result? Had the Romney people not won by a landslide (they did), it would have caused any delegate with less than 3 votes (or separated by less than 3 votes, I forget exactly, was pretty shady how they did it...) to be dropped off the ballot.

I'll let you figure out their thought process there. Needless to say, it's some bullshit. I may have captured it on video, I need to get new batteries in the camera and check the video to see... will definitely post an update on that.

te72 - you should get ahold of Ben Swann, he is a reporter in Ohio that has been exposing a lot of these shenanigans and has commented on national news. He would probably like to see your video. You can also friend him on Facebook. He has a lot of people following his "Reality Check"

I'd heard a bit about the increase in support from Santorum supporters, which struck me as a bit odd, given the differences between the candidates...

Anyway, here's the video, helps to turn up the volume a bit, as well as read the description to see what's going on here:

Oh, and P5150, can you share the video link with this Ben Swann guy? I'm not on Facebook, nor do I have any intention of signing up. :p

At the risk of a ban from this section, (due to the socialistic nature of the moderator) You people are smoking some really good shit if you think RP even has a snowball's chance in hell, of securing the Republican nomination!
It's like listening to the "moon is made of green cheese" argument! Hilarious!
Romney will not only be the nominee, he will be our next president (God willing) and you RP supporters can just go on bitching about how RP would have done everything bette'r as our economy recovers, and we get some of our American exceptionalism back.

Nobody ever gets a ban for disagreeing with someone, even the staff. I actually agree with you - RP's chances are probably a good bit less than a snowballs chance in hell. It's a clear indication of how broken this country really is...

Who is the socialist moderator?

Earth to Ron Paul dickriders. Ron Paul is not going to win the nomination. That is all.
Earth to 1jz101: Politics isn't like sports betting. The idea isn't to pick who's going to win. It's about supporting a just cause and supporting who you believe would create and sustain policies you believe in.

In 1jz101's defense, what you describe is what it should be. But the dumbass government educated populace puts more effort into watching American Idol than they do politics. It's a fashion show.

People tend to elect the government they deserve. The bulk of these dumbasses deserve what's happening (and what's about to happen) to this county.
