Please read what I wrote, the one you pointed out is for the oil pump DRIVESHAFT BEARING.
What I am asking for now is the oil pump GUIDE BUSHING.
It's the bushing that the top of the oil pump goes into. The top of the bushing fits into a hole into the block.
I love reading Gordons threads, so many great ideas. I just bought an oil pump spring shim from him, so he is still making parts for people, contact him there or on Supraforums, his username is sixpack
Yep the parts he used to make that needle bearing work are quite simple.
Its a dang near perfect solution, substitute a bushing for a needle bearing.
Similar to what Andrew has done for the oil pump retainer on the front of the engine.
Required only :
-Drilling out the center of the cap screw
-Drilling and tapping the pump shaft
-Machine a seat for the screw to sit flush
Talk about an easy solution, I could duplicate that very easily here with the lathe.
If I ever need to replace this part again.
