Hi Guys,

I know that KW makes mk4 coilovers and really looking at the front and rear of my BC coilovers they look almost identical. Has anyone ever tried to use 2 sets of mk4 fronts so we can have KW's? I realize the springs should be changed to fix the spring rate but other than that?

I worked on a MK3 before that had 4 fronts. I know MK4 top hats are the same but I am not sure about the bottom mount. Changing the spring rate is one issue but you will probably want to revalve the shock to match the spring. I love KW and all but IMO not worth it at all.

Add to that the cost.

I spoke with kw about this especially with the air cups...6k minimum. :/

I went as far as asking about the electronically controlled shocks (like tems, just newer tech), their response

Not intrested as there is no ROI, which I get. Not even a one off.

Not surprised.
I tried that with Penske shocks as well, they had zero interest.

They make MKIV shocks, but nothing MKIII.

$6k for a fully sorted suspension bespoke to our chassis with a full air cup system for $6k isn't terrible. I'd consider that...

As I see it now, a cheap~ish system with questionable performance is around $2.5k. A "good" system is closer to 3-3.5k. $6k for a polished package from a known good manufacturer? In the realm of consideration.

I would totally pay $3-6k for a Penske system if they would make it. :(

My friend has an Lotus Elise Penske suspension setup, says its amazing.

Fortune has their 510 series coilovers for the MKIII. They don't list the aircup system for it specifically, but it might be possible. They have a remote damper controller too.
