You Tube:: I watched a mkiii Supra walk around video, when he turns the key to the "on" position, the tach pegs to eight or nine grand and after the car starts the tach goes normal, just like Corvettes and Lexus. How did he do this?,... Thanks!!!

Probably standalone control strategy.
Hope the engine is using some quality oil with strong film strength.
That's a good way to wear out the rotating assembly before oil pressure is developed.

Unless of course they are also using an oil accumulator before engine start.
Then it does not matter.
Falls into the category of BMW " burble exhaust tune"

its like those aftermarket guages that spike up then down on car power up!

Probably running a standalone feeding the signal to the tach.

Someone did it here with the AEM.

You could do it with a small additional circut as well, handmade that does a sweep on startup.
But probably not the case.
