1988 Toyota Supra. 7mgte Motor with less than 1000 miles. Upgraded turbo and injectors. ARP Head Bolts. 125k miles. Interior is extremely clean and no rips in upholstery. Car has Targa top with all power options. Car was professionally tuned to 350 hp at the tires. Aftermarket aluminum wheels.
I am looking at this in my area he is asking 5500 for it. Doese this seem like a good deal? This would be my first one. Anything I should be worried about, or look out for?

Go for it, you wont be disappointed. The 7m is a great motor despite the negative attention its gotten in comparison to the JZ motors.

If the body and interior are in decent shape a 88 with 125k and a rebuild for 5500 is a good price in todays price market. Post up some pictures if you can.

Also you posted this in the MKVI section, may find more information and help in the MKIII

All depends on the quality of work and the condition of the chassis. A rolling chassis in really good shape is worth $5k alone. A freshly built motor in a mk3 for $5.5k is suspiciously cheap.

First question,

will this be your only mode of transportation? If so, do not mod the Supra any further.

if it is a secondary car, do you have the budget set aside for when parts break (that is correct, i did not use the qualifier "if")?

As long as you keep in mind that the car is anywhere from 27-32 years old meaning that yes, it will have problems. Yes it is a sports car so don't expect pricing of parts to be like a Toyota Camry, Corolla or Chevy Geo Prism. Then you will be fine.
