I swapped a 2jz-gte vvti from an aristo into a mk3 supra. The engine runs great but when I push the clutch down it makes a grinding scrapping noise at 80% clutch pressure and the engine stalls out if I press it to the floor. See the YouTube video here, I’m going to removing the transmission and see how the clutch is installed, any ideas?

After a closer inspection tonight the fork is clearly hitting the clutch as you can see the red paint is chipping which would be the grinding noise. Something must be installed incorrectly but I’m still unsure of what. There shouldn’t be that much play in the clutch fork.

I know when I installed my ClutchMasters FX400 clutch it had a sticker with a "flywheel side" on the disc, did your disc have that or any type of facing direction on it?

Took the transmission off this weekend and the disc is on correctly. However, there was a 5mm spacer between the flywheel and the engine which I think was for the automatic transmission.

Ya the spacer is for a auto flexplate. Not needed for manual trans.
