I'm trying to get a heads up on changing the steering rack bushing? It looks pretty straight forward ( I didn't get a chance to take a close look) but I hear it's a pain in the ass. What am I up against and do I need special tools?

I think you need to pull the motor, or at least lift if up to get access to replace them.

Nah, engine can stay where it is.
Shouldn't need any special tools.
Are you just removing and replacing the 2 bushings?
Not removing the rack from the vehicle?

I removed the rack with the engine where it was a couple times.
Hardest part is getting to the back bolts on the bracket for the bushings.
It's do-able, just need to work in tight spaces.
