I use those same bushings for my steering rack. :)
I'm pretty sure you got yours from driftmotion? Mine came from an ebay seller. It still pretty good quality. Just painted the engine bay today. Kinda got dark so ill take pictures tomorrow.

I did not, pretty sure I've only ever placed one small order with driftmotion.
Mine were also from eBay, parts looked good to me.

Cool well I guessed wrong, I try to get as much as I can from driftmotion but with a budget I had to go ebay on a few items. I want to get this on the road soon but if I go expensive on all the parts I'll end up delaying the time it will be on the road. Right now the only thing delaying me is the harness. I've ordered the things I need to extend and repair the harness. I also am debating the way ill reloom the harness. I see many different ways out there and am thinking which way I want to do it.

Painted the engine bay. Doesn't look that great as I was working on the paint and noticed a rain store coming so I sped through it but it looks better then before.

Also the ebay seller I bought the tie rods and ball joint combo did not listen to me when I told them they are shipping out my parts late so do ship with at least 2 day shipping. Nope they shipped it ground, dumbasses.

Ok dummy fitted the inner tie rods for now. The place i ordered these parts from is missed one retaining washer in my order. Ill probably go out to toyota and order one in as i don't really have time to wait for that seller.

Got most of the looming off, just the last little bit left. Zip ties is your best friend as it keep everything aligned. Still no freaking clue what im going to reloom this with. As soon as I finish removing all the rest of the looms ill be extended it.

I also did order the inner tie rod locking washers from toyota the other day. They said they put it on expedited but it will still take a week to get them in. Slowly but surely its moving along.

The long process of extending the harness begins.
Resized_20200531_182706.jpeg
I'm reusing some good old harness to extend the 1jz harness. Taking it one wire at a time.

Aw darn I'm gonna have to order the heat shrink online. Auto parts stores only carry very small quantities. Found a bigger quantity on eBay. Nows i got to wait a week before I can start back up on the wire extension.

Ok totally just remembered to install the 7m starter on my 1jz. Just installed it a few minutes ago. Fits perfectly with the longer bolts my 1jz swap came with and the same nuts from the 7m. Fits like a glove and hopefully preforms well.

I do have a question on your looming. Did you have to remove all the connectors to slide the looming on? Is the looming good heat resistant? Finally where did you get the looming from?
All very good questions. All I can say is, I wish, Geez!

You just exposed me. The "after" is a custom harness... purchased, so, after big bucks.

I've still got the before, but without the answers t all your questions, I failed.

I was saying WOW about the detail of your pieces. I still have wiring to do, but not to the degree you're doing.

For the loom there is the corrugated plastic tubing. The high heat version has a white stripe on it. You can find it online. That stuff is what toyota used originally. There is also the braided mesh loom. That's what debrucer is using above. It looks nice but longevity I don't know about. https://www.amazon.com/Alex-Tech-25ft-Protector-Sleeving/dp/B07FW3MKGH/ref=sxin_7_ac_d_pm?ac_md=3-2-QWJvdmUgJDIw-ac_d_pm&cv_ct_cx=braided+wire+loom&dchild=1&keywords=braided+wire+loom&pd_rd_i=B07FW3MKGH&pd_rd_r=af0246d6-729e-4dec-932e-172ea0d4c329&pd_rd_w=sgl2L&pd_rd_wg=VrMgZ&pf_rd_p=4ad7736a-c9f7-4bcd-8a16-bd943c26821c&pf_rd_r=F2E3S678VZRPZBH6MNCB&psc=1&qid=1591247906&sr=1-3-22d05c05-1231-4126-b7c4-3e7a9c0027d0

For the loom tape I would go with TESA tape. You can find it on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016ZMXLEI/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_7?smid=A29KQN8I4JU5BK&psc=1 Tesa 51026 Highest Quality Heat Proof Engine Compartment Wiring Tape used by VW AUDI BMW
I also like the rubber self fusing tape as it holds up well under heat. I've used the butyl but there is also a silicone type that I have not tried.

Lol busted. Nah its all good. I really really want to get the tweeks 1jz harness but just don't have $1200 to spend at the moment. Reason I'm spending time and tad bit money on my current harness.

Yeah I am thinking about longevity but was thinking that the tape dose not look as clean as a braided or plastic loom. And I'm concerned with the heat shielding with the braided loom so probably will be going plastic.

you'll need the loom and the tape. I know heatshrink looks best, but sometimes you need a bit of tape when things are splitting and combining.

One wire away from fully extended. Found out I didn't have this size wire so ill have to go and get some from autozone hopefully tomorrow.
20200605_163357.jpg

Also changed out most of the connectors. Good thing I did to as most of them were just crumbling away. They where missing a few in this set ill have to order. Here is the bag of old bad connectors.
20200605_190246.jpg

The injector connectors and the brown vsv connectors didn't fit properly so ill have to see if i can order another set. Maybe they are off brand so they require repining. But I didn't have to repin any of the other connectors. Kinda weird. This set also fits a 2jz so I wonder if the 2jz connectors are a tad different from the 1jz connector..

Ok so i figured out the injector connectors I got with the master connector set is for the usdm 2jz. Ill have to order the 1jz jdm ones. Im pretty sure it is the same issue for the brown vsv connector. I already found the jdm 1jz injector connects just need to find the jdm brown vsv connector.

Also this master kit is missing these connectors
O2 sensor
Ac compressor
Oil level sensor
3 Ignitor connectors.

They are not included in the bundle so for those who are looking into buying the master connector set you will have to consider these issues. I found everything but the jdm brown vsv connector. Also didn't get a chance to go and get the wiring needed to finish the extension. I also decided I will just use the plastic tube loom. I feel it makes everything look nicer.

Got the rack and pinion installed. Driver side bracket was a pain as the polyurethane bushing is pretty stiff but I got it. Just got to install the outer tie rods and the lower ball joints.
20200606_185902.jpg

Also just ordered the jdm 1jz injector connectors from wiring specialties. Hopefully they send me the right ones.

Extension is finally done. Just waiting on a few more connectors to come in then swap those out. Then finally wire the harness to connect to the supra body harness. That is the part I'm concerned/worry about getting right. I've yet to find the soarer 1jz to 87 ma70 wiring bible. I found a few threads explaining what each connector focuses on but not as detailed as I'd like it.
