    Aaaargh!

Yeah, that area is miserable to get to. It could also be the 90 degree rubber hose there too.

Oil leak, driver side front of the engine

Was the deck machined with the timing cover in place. If not you can get a leak there. Rivets left in a metal head gasket can also cause a leak there, Finally, FIPG is put there to fill the gap between the timing cover and block and head. It will leak without the FIPG even if the machining is...

    Aaaargh!

might have been the coolant pipe flange behind the water pump

    Aaaargh!

Sorry to hear that. Was it a composite or metal head gasket on the last repair?

    High temp, Regular temp gauge

50:50 mixed coolant at 0.9 bar pressure boils at 260F. So you have lots of margin at 212.

    You mean like this.

    High temp, Regular temp gauge

No I just meant you measured 200+ at the thermostat. Why do you think that is wrong? It seems about right to me. Temps can go above thermostat opening numbers especially in stop and go. The whole reason the factory gauge is nonlinear is to stop warranty calls when people see the gauge moving...

    How does BMW control it?

    High temp, Regular temp gauge

it would measure that yes. But what value did you record? As figgie says, the factory temp gauge is nonlinear.

    Need help fixing idle rpm

Yes it will, but only after two drive cycles. It will not detect a malfunctioning TPS that is not shorted or open. It will also not detect a misadjusted TPS except for code 51 when in test mode. Code 51 does not set the MIL light.

    Need help fixing idle rpm

There are no codes for a bad TPS except the idle switch. The TPS is a secondary input, the car will drive fine with it unplugged as you describe. To test the idle switch, follow these instructions. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=101

    Cant identify where hoses go

Given that the USDM models only seem to have 2, I would say you cap the other 2 and call it good.

    Need help fixing idle rpm

Issues like any roughness in the bearings, metal flags hanging up the plate, wear or looseness, air leaks at the bearings, and so on.

    90 Scope Creep

@Piratetip Torsen is behaving beautifully. I have not yet taken it above 60 but I will be doing that this evening on the return home from work. One thing I am not used to is the 1-2 shift under full power. If you are not going straight when it shifts then you need to be ready with some quick...

    Cant identify where hoses go

Agreed. Your setup is unique. Maybe JDM?

    90 Scope Creep

The torsen behaves very differently accelerating out of a turn. The clutch type LSD tends to lock up the axle under power and so in a turn that adds to the tendency to break the inside tire loose which then causes the whole rear end to slide loose. The torsen sticks like glue in the same situation.
