    Air Conditioning Question

Without either of the components reinstalled have I just killed the idea of keeping my A/C? I am using a Flex-a-lite electric twin fan and it covers the full radiator surface. There is also no room in front on the radiator. It’s like they really have to go.

My system was sold as MT3090 which fits my car. My car is a '88 mk3. There is a picture of the system in the documentation...

what is this? where does it go?

I am getting closer and I'm down a 3'x3' table of stuff I need to figure out and install. This one is baffling me. I cleaned it, prepped it and powder-coated it. WTF is it? I've been over the engine a dozen times, searched both the shop manual and the parts list... even broke out the Haynes...

Removing Crank Bolts Secured with Loctite Red

Have you used red Loctite? Have you ever removed it? What should I expect the effort to be? And most importantly, is it safe to reuse the fasteners after removing? Must I do anything to the threads in the crank before refitting? It has taken a month to get the engine and transmissions, which...

Great Site for CAD Models of Connectors

Once you've got the connector part number, if you enter it at this site, they have CAD models for download, for free: https://componentsearchengine.com/ For the MK3 ECUs they have the grey plug component online. For the yellow plug, they have specs and pictures, but no model to incorporate...

    My long-running Supra build thread

Hi, I wrote this first post in someone else's thread and posted before I thought it through. Mostly we try not to do that :( I had a build thread years ago, and have some static information on the web, but, SupraMania is where I've always landed for info, so let me use this post to drive a...

Tie-down points next to engine undercover

In the following picture from the parts catalog are the two plates marked 51961 structural? By that I mean, do they hold any part of the radiator shroud in place? The lower bolts look innocent enough, but I haven't seen both ends of the top one yet. This is where I am hooking up a bracket...

7M-Gte Wiring Harness Plugs, What is what, Walk Through

Credit 92TealSupra for posting original on Nov 7, 2008 Re-posting first post of thread with pictures that match those listed here. 9/27/2019 I have seen diagrams that show me what is what, but I really think I learn from these photos I take, and I think others will learn as well. This is a...

Routing of AC hoses around sway bar

I replaced the sway bars years ago, about the same time that I upgraded the AC to R-134. The system has sat, presumably charged for years. About a year ago I was looking at the hoses and the way they were routed didn't make sense. I took the bar off and re-positioned things so the bar goes...

Harness Bar Template for cutting interior panels

I have the SupraStore harness bar and it's installed, but I never cut the interior trim panels. I know I had a template at some point, but I cant find it. I sent email to SupraStore and they responded negatively. Can anyone here providing the template or a link to where I can find? Thank you,

    Help with finding a gasket

It's more like a washer than a gasket, but it is made of a composite material... it's fiber, but also lightly magnetic. The part number is 11401-11432E as seen on this drawing from Cygnus. I've been to two dealers and they've gone through the supersessions, alternately saying no longer available...

Clutch Release Bearing - Need P/Ns for Plate Washer, Wave Washer and Snap Ring

The three items on the right of this picture. The dealer requested a VIN number, but, engine isn't the first in there... so I told them 7mgte with r154 trans, and here are the part numbers they sold me: Here are the part numbers they sold me - sorry about upside down, I really edited the...

where are old posts by Adjustor?

Specifically, he had a sticky thread on engine building details. I found it once recently on this new forum format; but, can't seem to successfully search for him or his name. I'm quite sure he was Adjustor with an "o". A link much appreciated. His write-up, among other things, pointed out...

Never left or back again? Either way...

This site remains a long-time favorite. The new software is a big improvement and not automatically logging one off after a few minutes of inactivity are two things that I like best about the upgrade But, more importantly than the software, this place has some of the most knowledgeable Supra...

    heater control connection question

The included photo is a screen shot taken from a video while I am sitting at home. The fact that I have this may make me take an even clearer shot, so perhaps, problem solved. The problem is that I don't understand what I'm trying to do down there... it's on the driver's side at the end of the...

HKS Downpipe and placement of Wideband O2 sensor

I am installing an SLC Free B wideband controller which uses a Bosch LSU 4.9 O2 sensor. That sensor has an operating temperature of 740 to 820 with a perfect target being 780. The company (14point7.com) sells a version "C" (although, harder to get, maybe discontinued) which uses a different O2...

Talk to me about multiplexing please...

First, I keep reading the terms Multiplex, MUX, batch, wasted spark, semi-sequential and factory ECU. Am I correct in saying these are the same thing? My Supra hasn't run since 2006 and it had a blown head gasket then, so I've never experienced any problem with multiplexing. I have read all the...

Engine Wiring Harness: add-on or replacement?

Reading about stand-alone systems in this thread only, and not very far in... having read all the stickies, a few threads by name, and the top recent posts just to see what people are doing, and I have read comments at least twice, if not three times, about "redoing" the engine harness. I am not...

Re: Raspberry Pi is coming to my Supra

"Raspberry Pi is coming to my Supra" was a terrible title as people were quick to point out that the Pi was not sufficient for the job. Several people pointed out all the negatives of using such a device for fuel management, and a few pointed out excellent links to research. I distinguished in...
