    White Mk III in Manhattan?

    I happened to be driving in Manhattan in NYC yesterday and saw a white Mk III with an aftermarket exhaust double parked on the right hand side of the street. There aren’t that many of these left anymore, so if that was you, thank you for bringing it out. It was an unexpected bright spot in my day.

    I understand completely what these things are. What I don’t understand is how to diagnose and work on them. I will pass this on. The only reason I suggested buying a new turbo is that since the old one worked with everything else the same the turbo itself seemed to be a reasonable place to start.

    My uncle is handling all this so I won’t get pictures of the interim work; I will just get a finished car back. He drove it previously, that is how he discovered the BHG, and said it ran well so he doesn’t think the block damage can be very bad

    Ok, now that I have had a chance to think on this some... The car currently has longer cams that I would not put on a car if it didn’t already have them. Everything about the car is a turbo. IIRC a turbo Mk III has a different rear end than an NA so downgrading to NA is a pretty involved...
