Royal Purple: What is my answer?

Frankly Royal Purple is a good oil, but I think it's very overpriced for what it offers. Lots of other oils out there that offer the same performance. Plus I don't really like the idea of dying every component in the oiling system purple. Kind of weird.

Royal Purple: What is my answer?

Probably best to do some reading on BITOG forum on this topic. Lots of opinions on oil out there. I like to look at VOA and UOA test data on oils, BITOG has that. My personal pick based on bang for your buck and actual usage is Castrol Edge 0W-30 and 0W-40. I usually run 10,000 mile oil change...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Yeah, leave the reversion dam at the head on the exhaust side. I'm talking about all the gaskets after that. Same on the intake side before the head. :D

You should port match all intake and exhaust parts. Since you have it apart already, match up all the gaskets and see which areas overhang. I'd recommend it, especially on the exhaust side. Eliminate any overhanging areas impeding flow. I remember having to take a lot of material from the...

    Cam Shaft Positional Sensor

I've had this issue with an old worn out CPS. Old brittle wiring + corrosion + old coils = very weak signal. Especially once everything gets hot. I've made a thread here going through the CPS signal quality and how to fix it.

    Koni Shocks

IIRC the adjustments only affect compression rates on those shocks, not rebound. Check with Koni though. What you are looking at is rebound. I had those for some time, pretty harsh ride even on full soft.

Sport yellow? They are adjustable, you have to bottom them out totally and adjust them that way by hand.

    Abe's first ma70 1jzgte swap

You would just need to figure out which way the line needs to be clocked. Since they don't rotate at all once finished.

    Abe's first ma70 1jzgte swap

Yeah maybe. Or a place that does A/C lines. Or a heavy machine shop, like for tractor or earth movers. They will have the tools to crimp that since they make those super high pressure hydraulic lines.

    Abe's first ma70 1jzgte swap

Yeah to handle those pressures you will need a reinforced crimp like the OEM ends have.

    Abe's first ma70 1jzgte swap

I would not use that for the pressure side. It's going to blow out.

Thinking of buying an 87 as a daily driver, need some help

Without knowing it's history, I've got no clue. Just trying to get you to look at the big picture. These cars are 30+ years old, all rubber parts deteriorate reguardelss of storage situation. To get it a daily driver I would say all and every wear part and rubber parts need replacement...

Thinking of buying an 87 as a daily driver, need some help

I'd check to see if any rubber components were changed recently or at all. Suspension(control arms, swaybar mounts ECT..)/subframe front and rear/engine and trans mounts/hoses/lines/belts/tires/steering mounts/ Ball joints/arms/inner and outer tie rod ends. There are a ton of other things to...
