What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Still about the same price now if you get it from the dealership. $230 I checked the online pricing for some of the Toyota OEM sites. Best I found for shipping was $24, though one was listing an additional $250 for freight. LOL! Best price online with shipping I found was ~185$

    Hello from Canada

Welcome! Looks like someone already modified the original exterior trim. Looks to be mostly removed and the body filling in the missing sections. Or they bondo'ed around the trim and left it? I can't really tell.

No, I perform whole vehicle powernet investigations. (Primarily 12V & 48V systems) Unfortunately I won't be able to help much on the canbus ID's, didn't look at that much. I will send you a couple logs one of these days if you are interested. Might help you size any fuses/relays/wiring ect...

    1986.5 Supra Restoration Project

Glad to hear you figured it out.! Don't get a rebuilt rack, get a new one.( If you can) I went through a huge headache for a rebuilt unit. Now that I got "something" installed I can tell it's core is a worn out unit, it has a dead spot near the middle. I plan on swapping it out again soon, I...

    Figgie's build: Project Rodknox

If you want some information on how many amps the Tesla Model S steering rack pulls I can give you some data. I investigated both the Model S and 3 - 12V electrical systems. Looks like you have some cool things in store for this Supra!

    Side trim clip

Update. So the newer model trim clip 75398-14030, works perfect even on the 87 trim. So if anyone needs to replace their broken clips just buy the new ones. They fit right in place of the old, no modifications needed at all. Once it took the old out the new ones simply crimp back in place...

It's the perfect marketing tool to get more traffic into the dealership to buy cars, any cars. There are other Toyota dealerships doing the same thing.

A Look at Vehicle Electrical Loads

Next Dataset. This is showing the 2nd engine crank in the log. (Hot start) This is much more in line with what I typically see for engine cranking duration on new vehicles. Most new cars will have a cranking event between 600-800mS duration. There was an 8.9A vehicle load prior to engine...

A Look at Vehicle Electrical Loads

Yep this is pretty typical power usage for a cranking event. Amperage usage is determined primarily by the starter motor ratings, and will be very consistent regardless of a hot crank or cold crank. The peak of course is always the highest amperage, but for a very short period. Once the starter...

A Look at Vehicle Electrical Loads

This is another informative post to follow up on some of my others. Short story: I am testing another style datalogger for work, so I thought I would use the Supra as a quick platform to learn something on. This is only about 20 minutes of testing total, so very very limited compared to what I...
