COMPLETELY depends on what you are using to lube the threads... oil or moly lube... big difference in torque specs...

also by standard main bolts im assuming you mean the main bolts for the main caps? (seems like a stupid question but i want to clear it up as to not give you false information.)

yeah they are standard main cap bolts. I bought the engine with arp rod bolts. And i have the arp moly based lube that i got with my head studs.

Stock main cap bolts = 75 ft/lbs

ARP main studs = nuts at 80 ft/lbs with ARP moly lube or 120 ft/lbs with 30wt engine oil. Be sure to tighten the studs hand tight! Also chase the threads in the block first to make sure they are free of debris / corrosion.

Be sure to be consistent in your handling of the torque wrench...

why is the arp torque so much higher than the stock rod nut torque? Isn't stock like 50 ftlbs

because the arp assumes you will use their supplied moly lube... which changes the applied torque physics... also most arp bolts are torque down a little more because they can handle it unlike the stockers.

hey mate so the main caps are 75ft pound. Do you know what the arp rod bolts tension are?

if you use the stock tsrm spec... make sure you use oil as a lubricant and not that moly lube... which is fine to do. as for the arp rod bolts ARP recommends 45 ft/lbs with their moly lube.

hey guys thanks for the settings. I will have my engine back together next week and after making 469rwhp on the last engine i'm hoping for a bit better number this time. Although i have to get a new ecu as the last aftermarket on is stuffed. Will keep you updated cheers
