Just like the title states. I have an 88T and can obtain an 89 front end (bumper, lights, grills, etc) Do I need the bumper supports, as well? I searched but could find very little useful info, just "yes it can be done" kinda stuff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx -X

pre-89 is the way to go front bumper-wise.........
the rear..... thats a completely different story.....

I would just get everything that U think you MIGHT need, if you don't use it, you can always take it back..... I've never had a front bumper off a mkIII, but I know the mkII's are easy to change.

O.K. so that begs the question "why is the pre 89 front bumper the way to go?" I think the 89 and up front looks pretty clean, but I could go either way, I suppose. My current bumper (88) is a little banged up, so I was going to change to the 89+. But again, why does everyone think the pre 89s are better? and why go with the 89 tails on the pre 89 cars? Just some q's for everyone to consider, and I am curious.

Its all just a matter of personal opinion. The general consensus is that the styling of the pre-89 bumper kicks ass, and the same for the post-88 tail lights. There arent any advantages of using one other than the other, when it comes to performance, its all purely aesthetic

I think they are pretty much the same, supports here and bolts there. i had my 87 N/A bumper off and added a Bomex piece, then i had the one off of my 91. its just a matter of remembering where all the dam bolts go with the metal supports.

I can't really make a judgement unless I know the colour of your car...

I still have to see them both side by side, I think, and then make my choice. But I will pick up all the parts tomorrow, anyways, a whole front nose complete for 40 bucks, pluse the 89 climate controls, and a few misc, oh, and the tail lights.
