Ok, so here is what I need to get done before the end of the month…
Replace power steering rack
Replace brake lines
Replace right rear wheel bearing
I’m confident I can do the brake lines myself, but has anyone in the area ever done a power steering rack or wheel bearing? The wheel bearing is going to cost like 175 to do and the p/s rack about 450. I feel I could probably do the wheel bearing as well if it doesn’t involve any special tools or alignments, and I have the TSRM handy. Anyone have any thoughts on the rack? Is it really hard or just time consuming? I’ve done an engine swap in a Celica, but we didn’t have to mess with the steering at all.
I also have to get an alignment and tire mount/wheel balance done, but I expected that, so no biggie. If anyone wants to come help out maybe this weekend, I’ll definitely feed everyone! I’m trying to avoid spending ~1K in labor on this… if I have to, I have to, but I’d rather not.
