I bet it is for drifting. Kind of like tray sliding but in reverse. Instead of sticking trays under the rears to remove all traction, you already don't have traction, so chain the fronts for the same effect!
If that wasn't their goal, well, it should have been.
sooo.......you chain the fronts so you dont have traction on ANY wheel? At least with tray sliding (as dumb as it is) you have traction on your drive wheels.
