Hey guys,

Im doing the old auto to manual swap and have some questions i couldn't find elsewhere.

1st, when installing the thrust berring does it need to be lubed at all?
Do i install it in the tranny or in the pressure plate?

Also my pilot berring that came with the clutch kit didn't fit right, it was too big and i crushed it while putting it in. So i got a replacement from toyota and it went it pretty smoothly.. a little tight but it spins freely and evenly.

my ? is should i be concerned that it was a little difficult to get the 2nd one in?

thanks

adam

the thrust bearing? you mean throw out bearing? that depends on what transmission you are using. the W58 and the R154 have different clutch setups and the TOB is arranged in a completely different manner.

Check the online TSRM here:

The pilot bearing is supposed to go in a little tight, otherwise it wouldn't do it's job. So long as the inner race (ring) spins freely, then you're fine.
