EDIT: well lucky for me, if you look at #1 cyl you can see a gap between the flange and the intake, IT'S NOT WELDED YET

I know what you mean. I, myself, am working on a FFI but I am not using the MKIV intake plenum.

umm, that flange connects directly to the head, without a lower manifold runner the top of the manifold would be where the fuel rail is :icon_conf
