Weight question????

Does anyone know the actual factory weights on the auto/5-speed hardtop,sunroof,&targa for the 87&88 year turbo supras and I guess for shits-n-giggles the 89-92 turbos. I weighed my 88T 5-speed(targa) the other day at a truck scale and it came back at 3,460pds. I'm wondering how much weight I've shaved. My friends 91T auto(sunroof) came in at 3,640pds almost 200pds more with full interior. Thanks-T

EVERY car is gonna different....

best thing to do is what you did...except you should have done it BEFORE you shaved weight also...so youd know the difference

My 87T hardtop automatic was 3620lbs with 1/2 tank of fuel when bone stock

Scaled my 87 turbo hardtop today, stock suspension, sawblades, 1/2 tank gas. Original spare tire in place, all interior as it left the factory.
Total weight(no driver) 3533 lb.
LF 949 RF 937
LR 844 RR 803

Rear 46.6%, Crossweight 50.5%

With 163lb driver:
LF 1013 RF 947
LR 910 RR 827

Rear 46.9% Crossweight 50.1%

A full tank of gas should increase rear % and RR weight giving somewhat more balanced rear weights.

I scaled my wifes MKII, it weighed 2996 without driver. It has all factory equipment including sunroof. It got leather interior so no rear spoiler, but it does have rear window louvers.
So the 500lb figure that gets thrown around as mkii to mkiii weight difference is very close(537lb in the case of my mkii vs. mkiii)

you do mean 5 speed manual, correct? if so, thats me i'm a light one, and i've got no spare, no A/C, no charcoal canister, no spare tire cover (but still have the pull down shade). woo! AND i'm turbo swapped with some good upgrades.

Shit I damn near picked the heaviest Supra I could find. If I had an auto it would of been. Oh well I've shed off 160pds so far. Once the lightened flywheel and aluminum driveshaft goes in it, that should lighten it up a few more pounds. Thanks for the info guys. I was just wondering. Later-T

My bone stock weight says it was about 3550... not the lightest in the group.

I've got no back seats, spare, board/back carpet, tonneau cover, chrcoal canister, A/C, stereo (don't really miss it like most would think) LW driveshaft and flywheel. Soon to have full CFX setup.
