Well I went off the deepend, and rebuild my Ct by myself. I had the shaft as an assy balanced, measured everything again and again...

POOF!

Under 2 hrs run time and less than 10 miles at 12psi and the thing is smoked.

It has main rear bearing failure on the hot side, with metal to metal transfer of the bearing material to the turbine shaft. The turbine shaft indicates no heat transfer.
Front and rear seals are LEAKING LIKE PIGS. I measured them before installation and they had zero clearance with the rings.

What would cause this massive bearing failure? The only things I could think of were:

-Massive unbalancing of the turbine assy
-No oil.

I checked and rechecked both of those, and even primed the turbo & filled the turbo with oil prior to startup.

Any help by the turbo "gurus" who DIYS please let me know or give me some ideas here.

Thanks!
