coil packs

im running an 89+ motor in my 87 turbo, on the coil packs where the sparkplug goes in is broken (big supprise). i have another coil pack from my 87 motor, but it has different serial numbers. will these work the same and if so, should i use the whole coil pack assambly (high miles) or just the one need?

I think, if both have the same resistance (you can measure and compare) then they are completely interchangeble =)
