question: exhaust with no muffler just a resonater

this may sound stupid but i've been wondering this for a while. what would a inline 6 turbo sound like with no muffler, just a resonater with a cat that is staight 3" all the way back? i've heard that the SRT-4 doesnt have a muffler on it, just a resonater and that got me thinking.

i was guessing maybe it would sound like a MAC truck or a bus. it will probably cut down costs on a custom exhaust because you wont have to buy the muffler too.

run open DP for a while and you can get the idea. just unbolt your cat and bingo.

But the resonator will cut down the Noise a little wont it ????

Im also very curious, i found a Borla resonator, their mufflers sound great..was wondering if the resonator would just cut down the noise a little.

I have 3 inch downpipe from the turbo, test pipe, two glass packs and a dual tip on my 88T.... its pretty loud, but it sounds sooooo good

not near as loud as a big ass truck or anything or as loud as this fool in a prelude who wanted to race me yesterday... his exhaust was so loud i couldn't hear mine!

Shouldn't be too loud. I run 3" pipe from the turbo all the way back, nothing else, and it's not that bad. Adding a cat and a resonator would tone it down quite a bit.
