Got in my car to go to work this morning, it was a little chilly so I turned the heat on. I noticed while driving that when I would come to a stop the temperature of the air from the vents would drop significantly. Then when I would rev the motor the air would heat up. Can anyone clue me in as to what this might be?

Trapped air most likely. Could also be a sticky heater control valve. My bet is on trapped air though.
Burp it, and get someone to move the temp setting from high to min while you watch the heater control vavle to make sure it still works.
That's what I'd do even though it's a bit of a PITA. You could also check the valve by seeing if it opens or closes when you blip the throttle from the engine bay.
