I just did a google.... and I'd be a little suspect of these tires. I was not able to find a single spec on these other than brand, model, and size. No Traction, Temperature, or Treadware ratings.
Remember that your performance is only as good as the weakest link. Don't let your tires be that weakest link.
While I agree with you that good tires can make a world of difference, I put little/no faith in the Uniform Tire Quality Grade Standards (UTQG). Contrary to popular belief, there is no standardized test to establish the numbers. Instead manufactures grade the tires
relative to their own other tires. This means you cannot assume that a khumo tire with a treadwear of 300 will wear the same as a pirelli tire with a 300 treadwear. You can only assume that a khumo tire with a 300 treadwear rating will wear the same as another model of khumo tire with a 300 rating.
The traction rating is also misleading. It does not have any relationship to the grip of a tire in the dry. Instead it is simply a "relative" measurement of how well the tire grips during wet skidding. I've seen good tires get "b" ratings despite their overwhelming superiority to models given "AA" ratings (even in wet cornering)
Temperature ratings are also of little/no value. To get an "A" rating, a tire must be able to substain 115 mph without blowing up. Any tire that you buy for the mk3 will at least be H-rated (130mph+), so they will all be temp A. The Aurora tire model in question carries a "W" speed rating (can substain 168mph) for all 17" tires, and at least a "V" rating (can substain 149mph) for all 16" tires ("W" rated tires are optional for the stock size).
I'm in no way endorsing this tire, but I suspect it is a cheap tire that should be competitive with the khumo 712 (ecsta supra).
