head gasket, cometic or hks. and replace rest of 18 year old crap, fluids, tranny , diff. tune up to the max. then you will have probably spent your money after that get another $1000 and go w/ intake and exhaust. boyond that get a new job for high hp.

If you have $1,000 for upgrades, I'd get a HKS head gasket. I know they are spendy 1.2mm stopper $300 and ARP head studs $100. Pay a shop $200 to put it on (thats my cost anyway) $600-700 spent. Go on Ebay and buy a downpipe($100) full 3" exhaust to muffler total for exhaust($300-400). Ebay intake adapter plate with filter($20) shim your wastgate a little. Roughly $1,000 spent and you have a stronger then stock head and a full exhaust pushing your power from 230hp to roughly 260 or more. Bamn theres a start. Good luck

Hmm... ebay eh? Never was really 100% trusting of that place... Heard too many stories of parts arriving broken or misadvertized. I think it's better to just go with a few high quality parts then just a tonne of sketchy ones.
