As some of you know I do two jobs, run A2 and my 9-5 day job. Last week I was laid off from my old job with no warning. I was actualy laid off via voicemail to give you an idea the kind of person I used to work for.

I applied at a few places and ended up landing a job as a service advisor at a med size repair shop close to my house. More money, more commision, and much closer.

I wont be on here as much but will still fill every order.

Just letting you guys know!

Congrats CK, Service Advisor can be fun and hectic. Especially working at a dealer (which I read, you arent) but yeah, have fun, enjoy the money, it can be really good sometimes for the economy were in.

Congrats. Automotive repair is one of the most stable fields to be in right now; even when people are broke, they have to be able to get to work. Being a service advisor for an independent is nice (that's what I'm doing right now) and can be a lot more relaxed. Have fun. :)

Congrats CK.

Laying you off through a voice mail must have taken a lot of balls..............:3d_frown:

2 of my local dealerships are about to close their doors due to lack of sales and service. I think there being sold off. My uncle works for one, hes been a mechanic for 20 years now and he still cant find a better job yet. Maybe NJ is a bit different. To me it seems that cars are the first thing people neglect when they need to save money or just dont have it. That reminds me, i need an oil change

Maintenance has been getting pushed out from what I've seen, but major repairs are still happening. If you depend on your car for a 30-mile commute, what choice do you have when it breaks? BTW, public transportation here is almost non-existant.
