Hello everyone!!, well i am about ready to get my car dyno tune. I plan to run 10psi on low boost setting, my question is how many psi's would it take to run about 450rwhp at high boost, without blowing the engine?

my mods:

COOLEEZE icp
COOLEEZE test pipe
COOLEEZE exhaust system
COOLEEZE intake pipe
BIC ddp
HKS ssq bov
CT26 (57 trim)
XS intercooler
ARP head bolts
HKS mhg
WALBRO fuel pump
RC's 550cc
LEXUS afm
SAFC 2
greddy electric boost controller
hks boost guage

oh yeah, and a lightweight flywheel, one piece driveshaft (steel) and a stage 3 clutch (forgot brand) but 485tq. and 460hp i think

thanks for your help:icon_razz

uh.. 450hp is really pushing the 57 trim ct. i had a 60-1 ct and other poeple with really the same mods were only making right around 400hp with the 60-1 and tuned really good. and that was at 18-20psi. the 57 will put out about the same power. you could probably reach 400 with a good tune and 18-20psi. when i read your title i was like oh great another one of these threads,,lol.. but at least you have all the right supporting mods, so good for you. but me personaly i wouldn't try pushing that 57 trim to 450hp. my 60-1 just went out on me 2 weeks ago. i know the 57 trims last alot longer than the 60-1. but i still wouldnt push much over 400hp

oh, forgot to add.. as long as you have the proper supporting mods which it seems you do, and a PROPER tune, you shouldn't blow your motor unless your trying to run stupid high boost. oh also, anything over like 18psi you should be running race gas so you dont detonate. put some race gas in and you could dyno at around 20-22psi and you would make some good power.

I'm not a turbo specialist, hell I'm not any kind of specialist, but I think I remember reading that the ct will be out of it's efficiency range around the 18-22psi anyways, so no need in pushing it, and I would definately run racegas if I was going to be dynoing more than 18psi..........just for the safety net.

The Ct-26 with a 57 trim is not really the turbo you will need to get those numbers. If you do use it and get those numbers, you're pushing that turbo beyond it's efficiency. If I were you I would go with a 62-1 trim turbo with a new center shaft, not the stock ct's. Those wheels are way to large to handle a 62-1 turbo, and run for a long time. you could just go with a larger turbo too, and run the turbo at like 70% of what it can do, so your not pushing it t it's max.

You don't measure hp by "psi's" :3d_frown:

You measure hp potential by airflow. The CT26 57 trim will make 450bhp, but you will need to do some head and cam work to see it. A small shot of nitrous wouldn't hurt, either ;)

If you want to do 450rwhp with a bolt on turbo, I suggest you look into a 61+mm turbo.

i do plan on getting a bigger turbo:naughty: but not at this point:3d_frown:

...so according from the feedback i am getting 400rwhp is a more realistic goal for the ct57...@ about 18psi correct?

cool thanks a lot guys!!!...ill most likely get it tune with in 2-3 weeks.

People have pulled off mid 400's with a 57 trim, but it's pushing it...

I'd be surprised if you can even get as low as 10PSI for your low boost setting on just the wastegate given your mods...

Whatever turbo you do decide on.. just do your research and read everything about it. If the future plans for your car, will be even more horsepower, then get something that will give you what you want now, and then more when you want to spend more.

The next time I build a 7m, I'm going to do something neat.

I'm going to make 400+ whp on a stock turbo with no nitrous.

Stay tuned ;)

fuel cut with your set up should be around 18-22 with the lex and 550s, but it all depends on your tune and what you'v done with the afm screw. the low seting would be just your wastegate, and with a full exhaust system that will probably be aroun 8-10psi.

I'm on a mission now. Went and pickup up a complete 7m-gte from a pull a part...

Going to tear it apart, and get started on my 400rwhp stock turbo engine :)

To the op, 450 is not impossible, but you are going to need some things. To do 400 on a stock turbo, I will be running a standalone, 9.6:1 comp ratio, ported head, cams, 3.5" exhaust and downpipe....

thats all your going to do to reach 400hp? thats hard to believe.lol

Thats all I need. The correct combination of parts make power. I don't need injectors, as 440cc's will be fine. I can control timing with a standalone. I will have to add an intercooler and hardpipes, but that is a given. The compression ratio will allow me to do this at sub 20 psi I would think. I do think this is very possible. I'll probably rev it to 7000+ too( I know the stock turbo will fall off...)

going to put this in the cressida. 325ish has been made with the stock turbo at the wheels, so cams, port work, and high compression couldn't be worth another 75 hp?
