go to Driftmotion.com. aaron has put a turbo kit together that has everything youll need. and for wanting to make 500hp with 4g, well the one thing you have to know is speed = money. just in my head alone i have over 3g. and the bottom end will end up running me about 2.5g. dont know how well it will work out cuz i still have to get everything machined before i put it all together. wish you luck tho, happy building to you.

No I do not sell greddy replicas, or anything replica for that matter. :nono:

That lipp setup I believe is meant to bolt up to the stock manifold. I'm pretty sure that if you want 500hp you will need an upgraded exhaust manifold and a bigger turbo. I have some stuff that is well within your price range and will work awesome. Also check out some of the site vendors and make some calls you can find out alot with just a few phone calls.

super supra dave: thanks for the link the Driftmotion 60-1 turbo, T4 looks like my best option so far and for only 800, unless enyone else thinks i can get a much better one for a few extra bucks, and ididnt see a acuall kit he had there was one for the 1jz, unless i took all the parts and made my own.

modularturbo: sorry i ment the gt35rkiller i read about it in a different thread
and you said it was a replacement for the turbonetics one and somehow my memory switched replacement and replica i did not mean to question your companies quality or anything.
:sarcasm: <me
:withstupi <everyone else

sorry for my ignorance but other than the exhast manifold what els will i need for a t4 setup

and the only reason i dont want to go any bigger is because this is a car i want to use around town so i want it to spool up quick and at lower rpms if you guys think i wont have a problem with that then ill go atleast to a t66
but it seams like a turbo that big whould ride better on a 2k$ ballbearing
setup and sense the is my first project car i whould like the mess around with the cheap stuff first........

i work at toyota if you guys need and tis information or parts information just ask, thanks for the input

If your $3-4k budget includes buying your motor...You may be in for a bit of a surprise (If you plan to do things the right way).

With a good turbo kit and the mandatory upgraded fuel system, you'll have no problem reaching your power goals.
Just understand that there's going to be a lot of other things you're going to need in order to achieve your goal.

And for this reason, Is why I say that keeping everything under $4k may be a bit tough.

500-600hp is A LOT of power. I can't argue that enough.
And at these power levels, 95% of the people making this kind of power invested some serious money to make sure their engine has all the supporting mods to back half a thousand horsepower.

The other 5%, you ask?
Probably thrown rods, toasted rings, blown headgasket(Not spending the money/time/labor to have a machine shop properly surface the head/block), or the setup just didn't last long enough to enjoy it.

To reiterate, just make sure you don't cut any corners.
If you are serious about aiming for 500-600hp reliably, then be prepared.

Cheap - Fast - Reliable.

Pick two.

To add to Boost Lee's comments, at 500-600hp, you'll also need to spend alot of bills on the transmission and suspension, if you haven't already.

The differential may be getting tired, and although perfectly fine on an N/A 7M now, may need to be refreshed for a serious power build. Also, you'll need to allocate funds to a transmission... your N/A 87 will have a W58, which a big power 7M will eat for breakfast. Expect to have to rebuild the R-154 you put in. Assuming your 87 hasn't had any suspension work done, like most supras, the bagged 22 year old suspension, bent traction arms, and sawblades with 225 tires won't help 500hp hit the pavement... expect to put money there too [READ: LOTS OF MONEY].

And that's not to mention the 1000 [on the cheap] or so one would have to spend to get a tuning system for 500-600hp.

Just trying to make sure you're seeing 20/20 on this mate, good luck. 3-4k would get you a well built 7M-GTE motor, but not much other paraphanelia to sustain it.

My advice would be to get the 7M-GTE internally sound with a solid build, then get it in the car and running with an R154 trans, then get fuel, turbo, management, ect, sorted out at a later date with a bigger budget. 3-4k to get 500-600hp that's drivable and sustainable is unrealistic in a JDM 7M-GTE. It's being exported from Japan for a reason: it's their old retired junk. Never assume it'll last.

3-4k is your budget WITH buying a engine, AND 500- 600 hp.:aigo::aigo::aigo::aigo:
My labor bill alone on my engine/head rebuild was close to 2k and this was labor only, no parts. 3-4k will get you a nice running 7mgte for a dd.

Do all req. maint to engine, gaskets, HK$ HG, and such (we dont like leeks now do we), add dp, cat back, 550's, lexus, Air filter, lower springs (come on now we all like to be a little lower:sarcasm:), and some washers for the wastegate on the stock ct-26 and your set. It will be like a new car and you might, just might, also be able to buy a tank of gas to enjoy your new 7mgTe.

Good luck with your build.

Naw, it can be done. Consider this:

Dual Walbros - $200
AFPR - $100
650cc injectors - $550
Megasquirt - $~600
JDM 7M-GTE - $1200
R-154 - $300

That's about 3 grand worth of stuff to get the turbo attached, so adding in a $1500 turbo does blow the 3-4k budget. But, what's another 500 bucks, right?

$4500 bucks for 600hp FTW :sarcasm:

Lag? Who cares about lag, you got 600hp yo! Lag is the span of time the guy in the other car thinks he's gonna win!

I'd say that engine would last all of 4 seconds under boost.

Keros - I was about to go ape shit on you until I read the last line of "fine print" in your post. ;)

He's absolutely right, though.

We'll estimate $4500 for everything he listed...
But on the more serious side of that:

Plan to spend at least $2,000 in machining of your block and having your entire bottom end went through with new bearings/rings/gaskets, etc. Plus resurfacing of your head and block to prep for your metal headgasket.

Add an additional $120 for ARP studs/bolts.

At this point, unless you know how to tune, you'll be spending every bit of half a grand just to have your setup properly tuned by a professional.

As mentioned, but will refresh your memory...

225mm street tires that are on your sawblades aren't going to grab the road for nothing if you're making 600hp.
You'll absolutely need an R154. And a good clutch kit.
There's a $2000+ kick in the pants right there.

And these are only the big necessities.

You'll be needing an accurate Boost gauge, Temp. gauge, Wideband, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator...

Must I continue? You get the idea. ;)

I have to agree with what everyone else has said. The main this is to build in the right order. Supporting mods first THEN the power building stuff. If you have a 600 hp turbo, forged rods and pistons but no way to see what's going on/feed in enough fuel/keep things oiled/etc. then you'll just end up ruining the stuff you DID have.

I'm looking to end up with 600-700hp in my car and keep the total cost under $10k. I spent $2k on the car and I'll be doing all the work myself....still not sure if I'll keep it under the budget. That's just the way Supras work!

forget 500-600, whatever hp number of the day.

Have you ever driven or ridden in a TRUE 400 rwhp car (does not matter what brand)?

On a seperate note, HP on the cheap = a bucket plus a shovel and nothing more.

lol, I was hoping someone would get a kick out of that post, BoostLee :D

If the OP is still reading this thread... 3-4k will get you a nice, solid, well maintained supra. But a 500-600hp beast? Definetely not.

Van's parts list is truely inspiring, I bet that car is fun as hell... Horsepower doesn't make a car fun, it makes it dangerous. It's everything else that makes it fun. Try driving a 400hp MkII supra with a 7M-GTE in it, with shitty brakes... that's scary shit. It goes rediculously fast, but good luck getting it to stop; you sort of get good at just hoping things don't get in your way (not my car, BTW).

Rule of thumb: a 500hp bucket of a car that runs an 11sec quarter is still a bucket. Not saying yours or anyone else's car is a bucket, but I'm sure you catch my drift.

thanks for being honist
i still can offord it but damn thats a lot of money to put into a car ireally should wait till im out of school but those damn mustangs....
i just try to think it as im getting a 400hp car for only 8k

and i know im try to go really cheap on this but thats the point or i would of got a mkiv twinturbo

and after reading stuff on the website and looking at your guys supras i started to think 400hp wasnt that much my bad

I come from a land down under
The vast majority of cars here are under 400rwhp.

A genuine 400rwhp car is a blast to drive and will destroy street tires at will.
(no NOT drag radials or R's just normal street rubber) ;)

The last part you need to buy for the budget 600rwhp 7M build!
