I am watching pass time, on speed network, and a lady (never raced 1/4 berfore) drove a 2001 911 turbo WITH upgraded turbo, ran a 13.15 in the quarter mile! I believe that is slower than estimated stock time! I guess the driver is the biggest part of the equation!

Hopefully that was sarcasm. You still need the driver mod with an auto, you can just launch in boost, have no boost loss between shifts and shift faster than any human being in a comperable manual car.

did it really take you till now to realize this? racing is a giant equation, and it doesn't matter if you build 1000hp car if you dont have the know how or the skill you will fail.

I remember watching a autoX event up here put on by the local 'vette club. The guy who eventually won, did a lap in a buddy's car just for giggles. The owner pulled an average 53 second lap. The expert, in a car he was unfamiliar with, (well, as much as you can be when you both drive 'vettes, I guess) did a 42 second clean lap.

That's a huge difference based just on driving skill.

Haha yea when I used to have my rx-7 the corvette guys would have the nickname "more horsepower than brains" at the autox course

also depends on the track prep, my mk3 can pulled a 1.9 60' on street tires (stock size) in baytown, I will prob need DR's to do the same when its running again in sealy (both within a hour and a half drive away) I am gonna guess most magazine mags don't get the luxury of having the track prepped every time they go out and test a car.

Supra owners are embarassing, I've pulled off better 60 ft's and e.t.'s, with a FWD street tire dsm with just a mbc... I hope everyone refers to the SM racing guide because the times I see posted make me wanna go off on them.
