Need 1JZ help

Anyone in or near Mississippi got 1JZ mechanical skillz?

Are you still having the same stutter problem Mike? Is your car grounded good? I added four grounding straps that I got from Rakkassan and it solved all of my electrical problems. Good luck and call me if I can help you.

where did you add them

I didn't have any so I put one on the back of the head, on the exhaust manifold, the block, and I think on the intake manifold. I'll have to go look.

Yeah Jay, still got the stumble/stutter problem, but now it won't even crank. Starter will turn over, I think it may be my ECU but it could also be in my wiring. You don't have a spare 1JZ ECU lying round I could borrow to use as a tester do you?

I had the same problems, but after grounding the shit out of the motor, it started purring.

BTW, I should be able to get some more of the braided SS ground straps soon. The school I was in pulled me away from the source, but I'll try to get them this week.

Maybe that(ground) is the problem, it started fine, still had the stumble and hesitation but it did start idled fine with no miss except when driving and hitting a certain RPM it would go to stuttering.. Now like I said it won't crank.

If you get those straps let me know.

Will do. They are off of a Bradley, old PRC-77 grond straps. They are getting hard to find, but I think I have located some.

if that doesnt work check the wiring to your cam angle sensors.
