Ok, so I got ARP studs for my 89 turbo supra, and I can't get my tools in to tighten the nuts once they are on the studs in the head. The slot they go in to is too small for me to get any of my tools in to tighten the nuts.

Anybody have any suggestions on what type/brand of tools they used to tighten the nuts..?

Thanks in advance,
Garrett

Rotate the cams and you should have plenty of space.

Tried that, it's not the cam that's in the way, its actually part of the head.

you have to get a deep 7/16(?) socket. For some reason, the deep socket is thinner than the regular one.

I'll try a deep socket thanx, but I think IJ is right, its a 12 point socket.

Use a 14mm, 12 point, 3/8" drive deep socket w/ a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter to fit your torque wrench. I used Craftsman...worked great.

you can shave some meat off of a socket. the worst that'll happen is you'll break the socket and they won't warrantee it if it's warranteeable..

never had a problem with mine.
i did have to turn the cam once to get in there, and yes it is VERY close quarters in there, but with gentle manuevering I got them all.
